Happy new year!

As a special treat, I’m happy to present to you the first page of the next Chapter of Tales from the Interface. It’s not done yet but here’s some info about the new book. It’s going to much larger than previous books. 28 more pages. It will end the first cycle of this storyline.

Status

I’ve finished sketching all pages. The first 19 pages are inked, and I’m currently flatting colors and adding some details. After that I will do I final color pass.

Once those 19 first pages are done, I  will start posting them. But I’m sorry to say it may take a while still. I’ve been slowing my schedule a little for many reasons, but foremost to take better care of my health and spend more time with my family.

If you didn’t know, I used to spend 2-3 hours on average every night over 6 years working on the last 3 books. I’ve cut that probably by half.

So it will come but you’ll have to be a bit more patient than usual.

Future of the site

Maintaining this WordPress site is costly and time-consuming, but I no longer see enough benefit in keeping it up. There are cheaper, sometimes free solutions out there that will be a better fit.

The new home of my comic work will be Substack:
https://emmanuelfilteau.substack.com

Substack is a subscription-based platform that allows writers, journalists, content creators (and everyone in between) to publish newsletters to their audience directly. Founded in 2017, it started by aiming to help writers monetize their work independently, offering a way to bypass traditional media gatekeepers.

I’ve been looking into that platform for a while, I’ve already started using it a little. I think it will be a better fit for what I’m trying to achieve. On your end, you will still be able to read the pages for free. And on my end, I will allow me to save hosting costs.

This site will remain active for a little while. I haven’t determined for how long. The store will also be migrated to a free solution eventually. Square seems like the one that makes the most sense. I’m already using it at conventions.

That being said, I’m still looking at options. If you have any suggestions, hit me up in the comments.
