While Gauthier’s parents are being informed about their son’s death, Clara is still trying to escape the mysterious thorny tentacles that claimed Gauthier’s life. Let’s hope she fares better, for her sake.
Early steps are always a bit faster, but I’m happy to say that next chapter is advancing well, I finished the second pass at the storyboard. At this point, I’ve started showing it to a few people and am making adjustments to improve some of the layouts and flow. It will soon be time to start making clear pencils of the pages. That’s when I start really adding in details.
Lately, I’ve started mixing the inked stage and pencil stage a little. I basically ink whenever I feel the drawing is mature enough. One of the best things about the digital workflow I use is that you can always redo/rework your lines until satisfied. In a traditional workflow, touch ups become more and more apparent as you lay them on top of each other. It’s a little hard to explain without showing what I mean, but come join me on my channel on Satudday 10h30 EST and hopefully I can explain it a little better with some visual examples.
I can’t believe it’s already September, I wouldn’t mind a couple more months of warm weather! Winter gets very cold here and we get quite a bit of snow but it’s fun for kids. Here’s a doodle I did recently in that theme. It’s up for grabs if you’re interested. I will send it along the next book I sell.
