The big boulder trick. Works everytime!

I’ve recently gathered up my courage to show some of my inked pages for the next chapter to a veteran comic artist. To my amazement, he returned my pages with a bunch of notes. While I’m usually in the camp of avoiding dwelling on the past, I felt an urge to act upon his notes. So I’m currently reworking these pages.

Criticism doesn’t always feel good but it is absolutely necessary to improve. Once I had completed one page, I was proud and felt it looked so much nicer. But it is specially hard when it makes you face something challenging. Monday night was one of those time. I spent two hours working on a panel and it never looked right. It’s Tuesday as I’m writing this and tonight I will face this panel again. By the time you read this, I will have succeeded or failed again. Sometime you just got to push through.

How do you deal with challenges and criticism?
